Artist Statement:

My work in recent years has centered around drawing nature, documenting plants and places, measuring time and noting time.  It’s about creating a visual diary.

My new project is about weeds.  They grow where they want. They grow where they are not wanted and they survive in the barest circumstances.

I draw the weeds at different stages of their bloom and decay.

I draw them in a different scale and perspective so they are familiar and different at the same time.

Text identifies them and places them in a specific time and place.
